Jet Setter




Last weekend, Cora, Grandma TT and I flew down to Utah for Matt and Amy's baby shower. Cora was a fantastic traveler, thankfully, and we had a great weekend visiting with family and old friends.
The first picture is 4 generations of our family - Great-Grandma Rose, Papa Steve, Mom and Cora. The second picture is Cora enjoying some bedtime reading time with Aunt Amy and Uncle Matt, who she adores. And the last picture is just to show Cora's favorite new activity...coloring or drawing. When all else fails, we get out the crayons!

Cora and the boys

Dave's friends, Scotty, Ryan and Danny, have been taking good care of us this week. We're thinking about asking them to move in long-term! Ryan is currently making us a fancy breakfast and Danny is still trying to find us the perfect Subaru Forrester to purchase.

Salar de Uyuni Tour

Southeast Bolivia is home to the world´s largest salt flats. This amounts to huge expanses of flat land surrounded by snow capped mountains. Big lakes, super dry deserts, and llamas, alpacas and vicuñas everywhere. As you can see from the photos, there are a few interesting things going on here. First, and most notable, is the huge population of flamingos. There are three different species that summer in Bolivia and winter in Chile and Argentina. But what makes it even more interesting is that the salt flats are roughly 14-15,000 feet above sea level. We are way up here. That makes the hills and mountain surrounding the plains almost 20,000 feet. Mt. Everest is less than 30,000 feet. This is home to flamingos? Yep, lots of em.
