Swimming in the Tulips!

Cora got to visit the Tulip Festival in Woodburn and loved the colors. A few days later she got her first swim lesson. She had so much fun, she squealed until the whole place was looking. We were in tears.

Sunny Portland

It was a beautiful day so we headed into the city for lunch, a visit to the Portland Chinese Gardens and a walk along the river. Cora has a bit of a cold but was still a happy girl and loved all the people watching. I don't think she stopped talking the entire time we were out and about.

Today

It's been over two months since that horrid day when our little family was hit head-on by a drunk driver on our way to the Oregon Coast. We are slowly healing from the accident, both physically and mentally, but everyday we are reminded that it's going to be a long process. Even though we are accutely aware that our life will never be exactly the same as it was before (something like this does change you), we are trying to put our life back together and feel as "normal" as possible. We have enjoyed visits from several family members and friends, we've enjoyed several beautiful weekends in Portland, and are often able to have a good sense of humor in the midst of incredibly frustrating situations. Patience has been of utmost importance because nothing happens quickly. The guy who hit us just went to court yesterday (YES, two months later) and is currently in rehab. He supposedly feels very bad for what he did and has accepted all charges against him, includin...
