Joseph, Oregon













We left town last weekend for a trip to Joseph, Oregon, where we stayed at our friend's fabulous little cabin. It was exactly what we needed and we didn't want to come home because it was such a beautiful area and incredibly relaxing.


While we were there, Cora learned to pull herself up on EVERYTHING. But her favorite new pastime is to climb all over poor Peeka, who is incredibly patient with her new little buddy. Oh and did I mention we got attacked by a deer while we were there??? That's a story that must be told in person so you'll just have to wait to hear it.....(it's a good one!)

Cora and the boys

Dave's friends, Scotty, Ryan and Danny, have been taking good care of us this week. We're thinking about asking them to move in long-term! Ryan is currently making us a fancy breakfast and Danny is still trying to find us the perfect Subaru Forrester to purchase.

Salar de Uyuni Tour

Southeast Bolivia is home to the world´s largest salt flats. This amounts to huge expanses of flat land surrounded by snow capped mountains. Big lakes, super dry deserts, and llamas, alpacas and vicuñas everywhere. As you can see from the photos, there are a few interesting things going on here. First, and most notable, is the huge population of flamingos. There are three different species that summer in Bolivia and winter in Chile and Argentina. But what makes it even more interesting is that the salt flats are roughly 14-15,000 feet above sea level. We are way up here. That makes the hills and mountain surrounding the plains almost 20,000 feet. Mt. Everest is less than 30,000 feet. This is home to flamingos? Yep, lots of em.
