Da Da

Cora is so excited to have her "Da Da" home and she does actually say that, though I'm pretty sure she doesn't understand the association. It's still adorable. Dave can't hold her or lift her but we sometimes just sit her down next to him. It's very sweet!

Cora has been our little angel in all of this. So sweet, strong, happy and thankfully, she is too young to remember any of it. This is one of those small blessings.

Hi Lindsay! Thank you for all of the updates. I'm sure it's not easy getting all the messages out when there is so much going on at the home front, but it's sure appreciated.

Our thoughts and prayers have been with you guys since we got word of what happened. Thanks for taking one for the team as you said... I really hope that's the case so no one else has to go through this! You guys are awesome!

Much love,

Maria
What a precious picture! Dave looks good! And sweet Cora looks so precious next to him! We are so glad you are home and recovering together!

We recently had family photos taken in the Columbia Gorge by a wonderful couple who travel around the world with their two kids taking pictures. I just love how they turned out!

Cora and the boys

Dave's friends, Scotty, Ryan and Danny, have been taking good care of us this week. We're thinking about asking them to move in long-term! Ryan is currently making us a fancy breakfast and Danny is still trying to find us the perfect Subaru Forrester to purchase.

Salar de Uyuni Tour

Southeast Bolivia is home to the world´s largest salt flats. This amounts to huge expanses of flat land surrounded by snow capped mountains. Big lakes, super dry deserts, and llamas, alpacas and vicuñas everywhere. As you can see from the photos, there are a few interesting things going on here. First, and most notable, is the huge population of flamingos. There are three different species that summer in Bolivia and winter in Chile and Argentina. But what makes it even more interesting is that the salt flats are roughly 14-15,000 feet above sea level. We are way up here. That makes the hills and mountain surrounding the plains almost 20,000 feet. Mt. Everest is less than 30,000 feet. This is home to flamingos? Yep, lots of em.
