It's hard to believe that we've lived in the Flathead Valley for over two years now. Our time here has gone by incredibly fast and now we're making plans for our next big adventure - a few months of traveling before another move to Oregon. Life in Montana will be difficult to leave behind. We've definitely taken full advantage of what this area has to offer - a laid-back lifestyle, comforts of a small town and the most incredible outdoor recreation at our fingertips.
Thanks to all our friends and family who have made the effort to travel here to visit us and for those that didn't make it, you should definitely put this place on your list. At this point, Dave and I both agree that Glacier National Park and the Canadian Rockies just to our north are the most amazing landscapes we've ever seen. Although that may change in the next few months as we travel to some new destinations....
Our travel itinerary from November through April has three parts:
1) A month long roadtrip through the West (CA, AZ, NM, CO, UT, WY and ID) with an emphasis on national park visits, visiting friends and skiing in a few places we've always had on our list.
2) A 5 week trip to SE Asia with stops in Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam. We're planning on meeting up with our good friend, Sara Patterson, for New Years in Thailand.
3) A little over 3 months in South America. The first half will be spent in Peru and Ecuador, taking language classes, doing treks and excursions and taking in the new cultures. The second half of the trip will be spent in the Patagonia Region of both Argentina and Chile. We'll do multiple treks and take in the beautiful scenery with some great friends from Seattle.
And on April 28th, we will fly out of Buenos Aires, Argentina and back to Portland, Oregon to begin our new life there. We're still trying to figure out what that new life will look like but we've got some time to think about it.
