Sunny Spring days in Portland; A visit from Cora's new friend, Rylan Swain, who is a little sweetheart and will be moving to Corvallis in a month (Sorry, the picture keeps uploading the wrong way); and laundry day at our house with our little helper.

Easter in our house means....

big, puffy Easter dresses that Cora will only wear once for the annual Easter Brunch at Grandma TT and Grandy's golf club. Grandma TT supplied the outfit and Cora was a hit with the older clientele. She even tried bacon, french toast and strawberries for the first time. She's quite the eater (and did I mention she already has FIVE teeth?!?).

Swimming in the Tulips!

Cora got to visit the Tulip Festival in Woodburn and loved the colors. A few days later she got her first swim lesson. She had so much fun, she squealed until the whole place was looking. We were in tears.

Seriously... cute.

Sunny Portland

It was a beautiful day so we headed into the city for lunch, a visit to the Portland Chinese Gardens and a walk along the river. Cora has a bit of a cold but was still a happy girl and loved all the people watching. I don't think she stopped talking the entire time we were out and about.

Today

It's been over two months since that horrid day when our little family was hit head-on by a drunk driver on our way to the Oregon Coast. We are slowly healing from the accident, both physically and mentally, but everyday we are reminded that it's going to be a long process. We have enjoyed visits from several family members and friends, we've enjoyed several beautiful weekends in Portland, and are often able to have a good sense of humor in the midst of incredibly frustrating situations. Patience has been of utmost importance because nothing happens quickly. The guy who hit us just went to court yesterday (YES, two months later) and is currently in rehab. He supposedly feels very bad for what he did and has accepted all charges against him, includin...

Back to 1977...

When my parents moved several years ago, my Mom and I came across several boxes of my old baby clothes. With all the crazy fabrics and bright colors of the 70s, we couldn't resist holding on to a few gems "just in case I had a girl at some point." I decided that today was the perfect day to pull out some oldies but goodies and try them on Cora. I think she pulls off 70s baby clothes pretty well, don't you? My girl looks good in bright yellow! What you can't see is the SWEET orange flower embroidery on the hip of the overalls.
